Where to Watch Alex Garland’s New A24 Horror Movie

After four years, Oscar-nominated screenwriter and director Alex Garland is back on the big screen with another jaw-dropping project: A24’s horror film “Men.”

The filmmaker unravels a twisted and traumatic tale with Oscar-nominated Jessie Buckley’s Harper at its dead center. Following the incredibly painful death of her husband (“I May Destroy You’s” Paapa Essiedu), the young woman takes refuge in the serene English countryside to mourn and heal. However, her wishes are cut short as she finds herself in increasingly ominous scenarios, stalked by a man (Rory Kinnear) who keeps popping up everywhere. Basically, it’s every woman’s worst nightmare.

Where can I watch “Men”?

As mentioned above, ‘Men’ is likely available at a cinema near you from its May 20 release date (and from June 1 in the UK). Unfortunately, “Men” will not be available for streaming at the same time as its theatrical release.

When will the film be available for streaming?

With most movies, Blu-ray and VOD are available around four months after a theatrical release, which means you can probably expect to rent or buy “Men” in September.

A streaming release date is murkier: Showtime is the linear home of A24 movies released until November 1 this year, according to the exclusive release deal the two companies struck in 2019. As such, you can expect “Men” to release the streamer at some point in the future. For example, “X” — the last A24 movie, released March 18, before “Men” — still isn’t on Showtime, so it’s probably going to take a while.

Who else is in the cast?

The plot in “Men” largely revolves around the aforementioned characters, but the other cast members are Gayle Rankin, Sarah Twomey, Zak Rothera-Oxley, and Sonoya Mizuno (whom you might recognize as the AI robot Kyoko in “Ex Machine”). That’s literally the whole cast.
