When the first trailer for a horror movie starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan debuted in March 2021, fans felt chills all the way down their spines. The film, mixing demonic possession and haunted spirits with witchcraft and miracles, seemed to be more than just a movie. Impie was going to be a whole body experience.
The premise for Impie is as follows:
âA girl inexplicably acquires the power to heal the sick after a supposed visit from the Virgin Mary. As word spreads and people flock to witness his miracles, a disgraced reporter travels to the small New England town to investigate. However, when strange events start to happen, he soon wonders if these phenomena are the result of something more sinister. “
So, when the film premiered in April, fans jumped at the chance to see it. With Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Katie Aselton, William Sadler and Diogo Morgado; the actors work together effortlessly to scare at every turn.

Of course, not everyone was thrilled with the premise or the execution of the film. Still, it was the first film for many moviegoers returning to the cinema, and a first dose of horror when we all needed something to drown out the clutter of everything around us.
As the Scary Season draws to a close, fans are enjoying all the horror they can handle, and Impie is a favorite with streaming viewers right now. FlixPatrol reports the film is on Hulu’s Top 10 Best Movies list for US viewers, ranking seventh on October 21. The ungodly popularity also appears to be spreading beyond North America, as the film also claimed a spot in the iTunes top 10 in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and India during the week.
